REPAIRS
Many of our customers can save a great deal of time and money by having a piece of quartzware repaired instead of replacing it with a new one after damage due to handling; or accidents during storage, transport or installation. In some instances, repair processes can extend the service life of key quartz components for semiconductor and other uses.

The following special controls are used to maximize this service, especially in preventing possibilities for cross-contamination with other customers.
- Upon receipt (and throughout evaluation, production, inspection, packaging and shipping) each repair and/or its associated traveler paperwork are labeled with a unique identification number. The outer packaging (box) that the product to be repaired arrived in is also labeled with this "repair #" and segregated for use in return shipping. This is an environmentally friendly policy and also allows us to control possible contamination sources from each individual customer and shipment.
- Customer specific arrangements for packaging, labeling of parts or boxes, special handling, etc. are all considered before the evaluation of a repair begins.
- Each repair is evaluated for potential to be brought back to either the original "new" specifications or to a customized set of dimensions and specifications if provided by the customer. A quote is sent relating the costs of both replacement parts and labor, along with any concerns or additional costs such as decontamination procedures. NOTE: Some products may be deemed "unrepairable" either due to the severity of damage, or the presence of unknown process chemicals on the parts. Final contract review is agreed on with the customer and upon receipt of a purchase order or other prearranged acknowledgment, production begins to repair your part to "good as new or better."
- Unless the part is a "new and clean" one that was damaged during storage or installation, it will next be decontaminated in a one-time-use chemical bath process in order to prevent cross-contamination within our facility. Customers must contact their Sales Representative for a list of process chemicals we are able to remove completely. Quartzware exposed to any other substances will have to be certified as pure by an independent laboratory before we can accept it as a repair and enter it into our production facility. Otherwise it will be deemed "unrepairable."
- A special "Repair Work Order" is generated; and after that the repair product is modified or reproduced following the same ISO-9001 approved procedures as our new products.
From this point on processing, inspection, and delivery follow our proven systems. Repaired product can save the customer 50 - 90% of the cost of a new part.
